Blogging while away

I think I'm gonna try and update this often when I go to Singapore and Jakarta in 2 weeks. Not that it's gonna be as exciting as a travel blog if one goes to somewhere like Europe or the US, but still. I thought I'd record stuff so when I'm back in Melbourne doing nothing, I can read about the fun again.

Yep, sounds like a plan.

Anyway, saw "Valentino: The Last Emperor" last night. It was an entertaining film, although I still enjoy "The September Issue" a lot more.

Hermit no more

This was from today. I think it's pretty obvious that I was seriously stoked to be out of the house after having stayed in for the past 3 days.

Pizza and flu

This was probably the best pizza I've had in a while. My sister made it with simple pita bread, tomato paste and cheese. Super yummo.

So much has been happening in the past month. But I guess there's no point talking about them because, well, they're in the past.

I can hear people coughing, throwing up and sneezing outside my house. Swine flu, anybody?

Long overdue

I've been wanting to take pictures of my street during autumn, where all the leaves are red and the sky is grey. Not at all how I expected the photos to turn out ("damn cars, move away from the picture!"), but at least I captured the redness a little bit.

There's that mixed feeling of liberation and fear standing in the middle of the road like that. You feel like you're on top of your game breaking the pedestrian rules yet you still look over your shoulder and make sure there are no cars ready to honk at you.

I'm a dummy...

Worked on the magazine dummy tonight. Loved doing the layout design and putting shit together. It was like playing puzzle made of fashion pieces.

Still got a lot to work on, but I'm trying to keep positive.

Oh, it's exciting!

Got myself a pencil case in my favourite colour ever!

It's not important to you, but it's an important milestone for me. The amount of times I've had to scrub off the pen marks on the bottom of my bags due to lack of containment for ink leakage is quite disturbing. Not to mention the inimitable embarrassment of burying my head in my bags looking for that particular Faster pen. Yes, I love my own country's product, so sue me.

Comes thundering in this wicked blue pencil case, and all my problems are solved. Well, not all. I'm yet to clean my black Longchamp bag. Thank God it's black, so the pink/blue/green marks all over its base are not that visible.

Listening to a lot of music right now. Isn't remembering the things you've been wanting to listen to for ages the next best thing to reading a four-digit figure in your paycheck?

...that I'm gonna make this a picture blog. At least for a while. I'll try to take pictures every day of this year, if not, pictures of things that I find interesting on certain days. See how long this project will last.

Beach days

We went for some phototaking at Brighton Beach and St Kilda on Friday. It was a good change of scene and it was a really nice and sunny day.

This is my new favourite Lipton tea drink. Two guys from Nova were handing these out for free when we just got to St Kilda.

I love the clouds on this one. Too bad they were better from this side, instead of the other side where the statue is facing the camera.

These sweeties greeted us when we'd just arrived in Brighton. They were waiting and ready to pose!

Strike a pose

So onto the more positive update. We had the magazine photoshoot today!

It was a great day, and I loved every minute of it.

The photos turned out so well; I can't wait till I see them published. And the models were nice and gorgeous too. It was great fun; great work, everyone!
